They are back! Free family summer movie series that are sponsored by different communities around the city and movie theater summer specials that are free or discounted! Whether you enjoy them under the stars or in the air conditioning, we have the list. We'll also include them in the weekly newsletter/calendar, but wanted to provide you with a resource listing as well in case you were specifically looking for movie deals. {Updated 6/18 to add a new free movie venue}
Movie Theaters:
Rave Cinemas Free Family Film Festival (Polaris and Grove City): FREE. Polaris location has movies on Wednesdays and Thursdays, Grove City offers them on Mondays and Thursdays. Runs through August 9th. Info and summer movie schedule.
Star Cinemas Free Summer Movies (Grove City): FREE. Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10am (doors open at 9am). Runs June 6th – August 16th. Info and summer movie schedule.
Cinemark Theaters (Gahanna and Carriage Place): 10 shows for $5 (advance purchase) or $1 per show (box office purchase). Gahanna movies are on Wednesday from June 13th and run through August $15 and Carriage Place movies are on Tuesdays from June 12th - August 15th. Shows start at 9am. Marcus Theatres Kids Dream Summer Film Series (Crosswoods and Pickerington): $2 per show (per person). Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10am. Runs June 19th – August 16th. Info and summer movie schedule.
Gateway Film Center From Book To Film Series (Downtown, 1550 North High Street): FREE. Saturdays at 1:30PM, Mondays at 7PM and Wednesdays at 1:30PM. Offering movies that have been adapted from literary classics. Info and summer movie schedule.
Drexel Theater (2254 East Main St., Columbus): $2.75 kids 12 and under, $3.50 adults. Fridays at 1pm, Saturdays at 11am and Wednesdays at 11am (with the exception of July 4th - 1:30pm). Runs June 29th - August 15th. Info and summer movie schedule.
Community outdoor movies:
Westerville Classic Movie Series (Everal Barn at Heritage Park): FREE. June 15th (Treasure Island), July 20th (Wizard of Oz) and August 10th (Aladdin) at 9pm. Info: Call Laura at 614-901-6512.
Gahanna's Great Outdoors and Cinema Under the Stars(Various Parks in Gahanna): FREE. July 7th and August 4th. Festivities include outdoor family fun, a performer and a movie. Info and summer movie schedule.

Groveport Free Movie Night (Crooked Alley KidSpace): FREE. June 30th at 8:30pm. Popcorn will be provided. Info and movie.

Free Library Movie Events:
Westerville Public Library: FREE. June 25th, July 9th and 23rd - 6:30pm to 8:30pm (you can bring popcorn and pillows). Calendar info.
Free with admission or membership:
Zoombezi Bay: Park admission or free to members. July 13th, 20th, 27th and August 3rd and 10th. Pre-show activities begin at the Wild Tides Wave Pool at 8pm, movie at 9pm. Info and summer movie schedule.
Gahanna's Dive In Movie (Hunters Ridge Pool): $5 discount admission to pool and movie (members are free). June 8th, July 13th and August 10th. Discount admission starts at 4pm, movies are at 8:30pm. Info and summer movie schedule.
